Steve Hornsby from Bournemouth said the 3cm diameter balls came raining down late on Thursday afternoon during a hail storm. He found about a dozen of the balls in his garden. He said: “[They’re] difficult to pick up, I had to get a spoon and flick them into a jam jar.” (via BBC News - Bournemouth resident mystified by ‘blue sphere shower’)

"Some of the Louisiana birds will be tested by the National Wildlife Health Center run by the U.S. Geological Survey. But a USGS spokesman told The Baton Rouge Advocate that USGS records showed 16 incidents in the last 30 years where more than 1,000 blackbirds have died all at once. “These large events do take place,” he said. “It’s not terribly unusual."

"Tuesday night, a strange series of orange and white colored lights were seen hovering over the ocean near Fort Myers, Florida. Earlier that day, witnesses near Egg Harbor, New Jersey, claimed they witnessed a man falling through the air, face down, who appeared to be free-falling without a parachute."

“The townspeople of Oakville, Washington, were in for a surprise on August 7, 1994. Instead of their usual downpour of rain, the inhabitants of the small town witnessed countless gelatinous blobs falling from the sky. Once the globs fell, almost everyone in Oakville started to develop severe, flu-like symptoms that lasted anywhere from 7 weeks to 3 months. Finally, after exposure to the goo caused his mother to fall ill, one resident sent a sample of the blobs for testing. What the technicians discovered was shocking – the globs contained human white blood cells. The substance was then brought to the State Department of Health of Washington for further analysis. With another startling reveal, they discovered that the gelatinous blobs had two types of bacteria, one of which is found in the human digestive system. However, no one could successfully identify the blob, and how they were connected to the mysterious sickness that plagued the town.”

[‘Rain of luminous beams’ appears in the sky of Xiamen Huandao Road]
A fascinating and poetic report of Fortean phenomena from Xiamen, China: dozens of mysterious beams of light seen in the night sky over the area just before midnight, last Friday.
The phenomena last for about an hour. A Mr. Wang interviewed by a local paper stated that a friend alerted him to the lights in the sky. What he saw were a handful of lights that increased in a short time to perhaps 50.
A meteorological observatory in the area could provide no data confirming the sighting. There were no known meteor showers taking place at the time.
